Moot Court Association

.The Moot Court Association works under the president-ship of the student capable of performing and managing the competitions for the benefit of the students . The activities undertaken by the Moot Court Association are:

1. Fresher's Moot Court competition

2. Intra College Moot Court Competition

3. State Level Moot Court Competition

4. National Level Moot Court Competition

Fresher's Moot Court Competition:The Fresher's Moot Court Competition is the first of the many tests that law students are put to in RTMNU's Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Law. Before the Competition, the Moot Court demonstration is performed in the 1st semester classes for the batches belonging to 5years and 3 years course repectively. This Competition receive an overwhelming participation with more than 100 students from the 5 year and 3 year course . Here the incoming batch is made to practice in front of senior students who guide & rectify the beginners , enabling them to get well-equipped of the Moot Court Competitions.

Intra College Moot Court Competition:The intra college moot competition is organized by the MCA for advancing the mooting and advocacy skills of the students . The said competition has always received a huge and tremendous response from the all the students of each semester. The Intra College moot court competition is divided into three parts namely,

a) First Round :The beginning of the competition deals with the first round , where all the students of the college moot in front of the lawyers who has completed 4-5 years in their practice. The students moot with the sides allotted to them by MCA. Top mooters from every court room is selected to participate for second round of the competition.

b) Second Round :After the completion of first round, the mooters who got selected for the second round is presented with a fresh proposition with a same or different side. The students here do not argue ex-parte , the opposition is allotted to every mooter.

c) Final round:As soon as after the completion of second round , top 12 mooters selected from the second round participate in the final round of the competition . Every mooter here is presented with a rank as per the discretion of the judges. Top three mooters are presented with the medals in the Valedictory function of the State level Moot Court competition

State Level Moot Court Competition:After the final round of the intra college moot court competition, the Moot Court Association as well as the students of the college geared up for the State Level Moot Court Competition . The State Level Moot Court Competition has been started for the participation of all the law students in the moot court around Maharashtra who come from their respective colleges. The State Level Moot Court Competition has always received a huge response from all the law colleges around Maharashtra. The final round of the State Level Moot Court Competition has always been judged by the retired High Court judges. All the participants are awarded with the participation certificate as well as cash prizes and trophies for the Winners ,Runners-up and Best mooter.

National Level Moot Court Competition:The National Level Moot Court Competition can be regarded as the soul of the National Law Festival "JUSTACAUSA". The National Level Moot Court Competition is organized for all the law students around India. It can be regarded as the most important objective of the Moot Court Association to organize National Level Moot Court competition. The problem of the competition is based upon the constitutional matters which is always framed and checked by the eminent and respected lawyers of Bombay High Court, Nagpur Bench. The competition as well as the festival has been regarded as the most awaited Law Festival. The preliminary rounds 1-A &1-B as well as the semi-final rounds of the said competition is judged by the lawyers of the Bombay High Court. The final round of National Level Moot Court Competition is judged by the sitting High Court Judges ,Bombay High Court, Nagpur Bench. The participants of the colleges is awarded with the certificates as well as cash prizes and trophies for the Winners , Runners-up and Best Mooter.
